Product details

The vamp of this derby is finished with thin laser lines and fine stitching, creating the elegant silhouette of a so-called French mirror. The cobalt blue sole is made of durable TPU. The heel is divided by a dovetail joint into a cushioning TPU and a classy leather section, which is finished with 6 copper nails. The lining is made of premium calf leather. This version is made of supple cognac-coloured calf leather that is polished to colour by hand. The leather stems from an Italian tannery in Chiampo, Vicenza. The shoe is stitched through according to the Blake method.

For men’s shoes, Floris van Bommel uses the English (UK) shoe size system in whole and half sizes (5 to 13½). This allows for a very accurate fitting range. The two tables below show how the UK sizes relate to EU sizes and centimetres. In the video, we show you how to measure your feet correctly.

“These shoes are painted by hand in our production plant. The original leather is actually much brighter. During the manufacturing process, just before we attach the sole to the leather, one of our employees puts this pair of shoes down on a table and carefully applies the final colour with a sponge. That sounds really exclusive and like good old craftsmanship, but… why do we do it this way? Why not order the leather hide in the right colour straight away? It’s all about nuances! Colour nuances that you may not even notice at first glance, but that make all the difference between a top-notch appearance and the look of a wet cardboard box. When you look at the seams and stitching real closely, you will see that they are accentuated in a slightly darker colour. Such an effect can only be crafted by hand.”
