“This style had been floating around our design studio for quite some time. For many seasons now, we had been dreaming of making a nice dandy-esque Chelsea. A boot with Parisian influences, a hint of western, some 50s beat generation touches and most of all a whole lot of attitude. We quickly realised that we couldn’t make this type of boot in the factory where our ‘normal’ shoes are made. Every time we tried, the shoe missed that bit of edge. We ultimately ended up at a shoe factory in Spain that is specialised in western boots. These people had that all-important magic touch. The curve of the instep is perfect, the heel has personality, the arch has curves like a Gibson guitar and the opening around the ankle is super skinny. If you’re looking for a bit of eccentricity, this is your shoe!”
