These are the original signatures of the founders of Schoenfabriek van Bommel: Adriaen and Christiaen Van Bommel. They were found in the Breda city archives in a document from 1741. These two scribbles are the only sign of life stemming directly from the two brothers. The lives of these men, their time and their shoemaking business are only a vague memory. These two signatures make their existence a little less abstract.
