"The superlative of crocodile is lizard! This leather was made by an Italian top tanner we have been working with for decades. The company and the people working there date back to prehistoric times when it comes to leather and shoes. They are very good in producing top quality super classic material. However, they are not very good at innovation. If they do try to develop something new they often end up with very special results, because they can never truly let go of their classic views. We also work with tanneries that come up with 20 new crocodile, snake and lizard prints every season, all of them technical highlights and extremely innovative. That is super cool and we work with that as well. But the charm of this shoe is that the classic reptile prints from the 70's and 80's shine through it, but transferred to the here and now. That is a true delight to me. This material is extremely special and made by true aficionados. In addition, this shoe is made according to the Goodyear workmanship, a very complicated technique that goes back centuries and which only a few dozen factories in the world have mastered."
