What is my size?

For men’s shoes, Floris van Bommel uses the English (UK) shoe size system in whole and half sizes (5 to 13½). This allows for a very accurate fitting range. The two tables below show how the UK sizes relate to EU sizes and centimetres. In the video, we show you how to measure your feet correctly.

Product details

This is a classic double buckle shoe from the Floris van Bommel collection. At the back of the heel, a small cobalt blue Floris van Bommel tag is stitched into the seam. The tread of the sole and the rear part of the heel are made of hard-wearing rubber, the gelength and front part of the heel are made of luxurious hand-coloured leather. The shoe is fully lined with high-quality calf leather. This version is finished in dark blue suede from a specialised suede tannery in Santa Croce sull'Arno, Pisa, Italy. The shoe is sewn on using the Blake method of making.

"In the canon of classic shoe styles, you could place this 'double monk' model between the slightly more informal Richelieu model and the more formal full brogue. For this model, we executed this classic following the golden standard. No creative excesses, but with respect for the rich shoe history of the Western world. All we added was a little blue tag on the heel. By the way, the name ‘double monk’ refers to actual monks. In the middle ages the monks mostly wore open sandals with a clasp, but for working in the fields and mountains they later came up with a closed version of that sandal: a shoe that was closed using a double clasp."
